Plan International

Plan International Germany has been repeatedly awarded as a transparent charity organization. The Children's Fund reached the first place twice in 2012 in this area: the Transparency Award by the auditing and consulting company PricewaterhouseCoopers and in an analysis of the business magazin Capital. The Reporting of Plan on goals, strategies and the application of funds is rated particularly as informative and transparent. Plan works as one of the oldest independent children's relief organizations in 51 countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America, regardless of religion and politics. The sustainable self-help projects are funded through sponsorships, individual donations, public funds and corporate collaborations. Of the world's 1.4 million children sponsorships over 300,000 are supervised by Plan International Germany and reaches with that about three million people in the program areas. With the campaign "Because I am a Girl" Plan supports the rights of girls und reached recognition at the UN World Girls Day on October 11. Plan International Germany bears the DZI-Certificate of the German Central Institute for Social Issues. The certificate stands for tested Transparency and Efficiency in donations beings. 2011 Plan International Germany was by Walter Scheel-Prize of the German development ministry for its involvement in the development cooperation.
